River Cottage HQ

Just over a mile north-west of the cottage, you'll find River Cottage HQ, Hugh-Fearnley-Whittingstall's centre for all sorts of food and countryside-related events. Overlooking the Axe Valley, River Cottage HQ is a 17th century farmhouse, with stylish converted barns, and about 60 acres of land with livestock and a beautiful kitchen garden.

Shop and canteen

The River Cottage Local Produce Store is located in the centre of Axminster, on Trinity Square. Only a short drive away, here you can buy - and eat - the best West Country produce.

Open every day 8.30am - 6.00pm (half-day closing Wednesdays, 11am-5pm on Sundays), the shop stocks a selection of everyday food items such as milk, cheese, eggs, meat, poultry (all locally-produced, of course) as well as books and smallholder supplies.
