Directions to Higher Holcombe Farm Cottage

From the M5:

Take Exit 25 at Taunton. Take 1st left towards Chard and Ilminster.

At first roundabout (approximately 3 miles) take 3rd exit towards Chard and Axminster. (A358)

Go through Chard and follow signs to Axminster. (Still on A358). Before you get into town, turn left towards Lyme Regis. Turn left again at the T-junction. This brings you onto the A35 towards Dorchester. Turn left when you hit the A35, but be prepared to take the first right in a few hundred metres into Trinity Hill. (If you get to Hunter's Lodge Inn, you've gone too far).

After about 1 mile, turn left at the first crossroads into Woodhouse Lane. Follow this road for about 1 mile until you come to a thatched cottage on your right abutting the road. (It is the next house after 'Foxgloves' on the left). Just past the cottage is a very small turn-off to the right (not signposted). Take this turning. The road goes downhill quite steeply. You will see Higher Holcombe Farm in front of you as you descend the hill. It is the second house on the right, down in the valley. The nameplate just says 'Higher Holcombe'. There is a gate at the bottom and a concrete drive up to the house. The cottage is the blue door on the left as you face the house.

From the A303:

Take the A358 from the Ilminster roundabout and follow directions as above. (Follow signs to Chard and Axminster).

From Lyme Regis:

Follow signs to Uplyme. Just past Barnes Meadow (a new housing development on your left), turn left into Venlake. (If you go past the Post Office on your right, you've gone too far).

Go straight across at the first crossroads, signposted to Woodhouse. At the first fork, turn left (signposted to Cannington). Follow this road for approx. 1/4 mile. Take the first turn right into Holcombe Lane. If you come to the viaduct, you've missed the turning.

Higher Holcombe Farm is the 2nd house on the left. The nameplate just says 'Higher Holcombe'. There is a gate at the entrance and a concrete drive up to the house. The cottage is the blue door on the left as you approach the house.
